Global 3D printing hardware and materials manufacturer, EnvisionTEC has signed a dealership agreement with Ricoh Japan Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of the international imaging and electronics company headquartered in Tokyo, to increase its presence in the Japanese market.
Set to commence later this year, the deal with EnvisionTEC’s German division EnvisionTEC GmbH, sees Ricoh Japan retail EnvisionTEC’s range of 3D printers, materials, training and support in the region.
Ricoh Japan says it decided to partner with EnvisionTEC due to the “high precision and smooth surface finish” delivered by the company’s patented DLP and 3SP technologies. EnvisionTEC, which this year celebrates 15 years in the industry, recently unveiled enhancements to its flagship Prefactory 3D printer line at, now in its fourth generation, at RAPID + TCT.
The Ricoh Group has more than 20 years of experience in designing products for 3D printing, through making prototypes and moulds. The deal builds on the company’s recent activity in the 3D printing industry which in 2015 saw the launch of its first industrial machine, the RICOH AM S5500P, a selective laser sintering system that’s already being used by major industrial manufacturers such as Daimler, Laser Zentrum Nord and CRP Group.
Ricoh Japan is to exhibit EnvisionTEC’s technology publicly for the first time at the 28th Design Engineering & Manufacturing Solutions Expo at Tokyo Big Sight on 21-23 June.
