This morning on the main stage at AMUG MC Todd Grimm was joined by one of the pioneers of the 3D printing industry, inventor of the most prevelant 3D printing technology and founder of one of the industry's most recognisable brands, Scott Crump.
The FDM creator and Stratasys CTO sat down with Todd for a thoroughly engaging interview that delved into what makes the great man tick. It was interesting to hear how Scott's social thrill seeking life style has allowed him to take greater risks in business as well as an interesting tale of how he first went on to invent fused deposition modelling thanks to entertaining his child.
Scott also discussed the future for the technology and the sometimes difficult business decisions he has had to make in his three decades in the industry. This was the second time I've seen Scott on stage and this interview style (which was also used for 3D Systems founder Chuck Hull at AMUG 2015) really suited him, his eccentirc genius spirit was really allowed to shine as he laughed and joked along with somebody whose company he was clearly comfortable with.
