Sintavia has installed another two metal additive manufacturing (AM) systems to its already comprehensive collection.
The manufacturing firm added the Trumpf TruPrint 3000 system, the first in North America, earlier this summer and has recently followed that up with the installation of the EOS M400-4 platform, the purchase of which it announced at RAPID + TCT in April.
Nearly four months to the day, Sintavia has announced it now has nine metal 3D printing systems up and running, ready to serve its customer base in the aerospace, defence, oil and gas sectors.
“These two additional machines significantly increase our production capacity and will reduce lead times for our customers,” commented Doug Hedges, Sintavia’s President. “Our customers rely on our high quality, cost-effective metal AM production for aerospace and other precision industries. Having nine machines in our vertically integrated, advanced manufacturing facility speeds up turnaround times which is immensely important to our customers.”

Sintavia TruPrint 3000
Sintavia's installation of the TruPrint 3000 was the first in North America.
The TruPrint 3000 system boasts a build volume of 300 x 400 mm, enabling the production of components large in size and large in volume. It can print in a range of metal materials, including stainless steel, aluminium, titanium, and nickel-based alloys, to name just a few, and is supported by Siemens NX software package.
The M400-4, meanwhile, was purchased after Sintavia’s successful harnessing of the M400 single laser machine. Now with four lasers, each with 400W of power, Sintavia can increase productivity. The platform has a build volume of 400 x 400 x 400 mm, with the lasers able to operate in a 250 x 250 mm square each with an overlap range of 50 mm.
Sintavia is expecting to install another M400-4 system later this year, and once it has moved into its new facility next spring, begin to double its capacity to 20 metal AM machines. The company currently owns machines manufactured by EOS, Trumpf, SLM Solutions, Concept Laser and Arcam.
Update 17/09/2018:
Sintavia has added an EOS M400-4 and EOS M290 machine to take its total number of metal additive manufacturing machines up to 11.
"Adding these machines to our production capacity immediately in September was a necessity," commented Doug Hedges, Sintavia President. "Our customers' needs have increased significantly in volume over the last six months and Sintavia is meeting this demand head on."
