Paris Air Show 2013
The International Paris Air Show at Le Bourget is set to welcome guests for its 50th year on June 17th, running until the 23rd.
This year, attendees will be able to see SLM Solutions' latest rapid prototyping developments showcased among the stands, where leaders of the international aerospace industry flock to boast and learn about the latest technologies.
The Lubeck-headquartered company will be displaying the latest advances in additive manufacturing and visitors will be inspired by the fresh thinking brought to the world of aerospace by the rapid manufacturing pioneer, which will be based in Hall 2a E299.
Since its inception half a century ago, the Paris Air Show has been at the very heart of new developments in the world of aviation and aerospace.
Over the seven-day exhibition, SLM Solutions will be showcasing its laser melting system SLM 125 HL. The compact Selective Laser Melting System 125 HL produces highly complex metal components using fine metal powders from 3D CAD data files. The economical system is suitable for both research and development environments and small lot production areas.
With the patented new bidirectional loader movement, the SLM 125 HL is becoming the fastest system in its class. Furthermore, the system offers a safe filter system and efficient protective gas consumption due to the internal recirculation of inert gas at laminar flow.
SLM Solutions works closely in research and development, along with renowned universities and institutes. Managing Director of SLM Solutions Hans J Ihde confirmed that the company has invested a lot of time, money and research and development into ALM systems, and the associated equipment and materials.
Henner Schöneborn, Technical Director, added: "Together with partners like EADS Innovation Works, we will optimise plants and continue to create new materials to withstand even higher demands. Our systems give companies the chance to optimise their production in a more efficient and independent way."
