German manufacturer to present full range of AM solutions.
German additive manufacturing leader, SLM Solutions will present its selective laser sintering portfolio at Paris Air Show next week.
The show which takes place from 15th to 21st June, is the world’s largest aerospace event and since its launch in 1909 has become the key meeting place for all the major players in the aerospace industry.
As well as its comprehensive range of industrial 3D printing solutions, SLM will exhibit the Google Lunar XPRIZE entry, Asimov R3C rover. Designed by Berlin-based Part-Time Scientists, the first German and only privately funded company to take part in the mission, the test vehicle includes wheels and camera adapter component that were manufactured using SLM technology.
SLM Solutions and their French partner Multistation present the compact additive laser melting machine SLM 280HL at the pavilion of BDLI in Hall 2c, booth B357 in Le Bourget. The system covers the entire process of selective laser melting. The system produces high-quality metal components on the basis of three-dimensional CAD data. The SLM 280HL is intended to be a "universal system", which can be used in the field of R&D and also in the field of manufacturing complex components. The open control concept enables the user to customise and supply individual construction processes through a variety of options and expandability, the system adapts to the different requirements.
Dr. Markus Rechlin, CEO of SLM Solutions Group AG, commented: "Many years we did pioneer work as technology leader in additive manufacturing and invested in research and development of equipment and materials. Together with partners like EADS Innovation Works, we will optimize plants and continue to create new materials to withstand even higher demands. Our systems give companies the chance to optimise their production in a more efficient and independent way".
