Structo, a manufacturer of 3D printers for the dental market, has unveiled the Velox Mask Stereolithography (MSLA) desktop machine which boasts integrated autonomous post processing capabilities.
The company believes it is delivering to market a revolutionary product which will have a sizeable impact in the dental industry.
Targeting a gap in the market, Structo has brought 3D printing together with post-processing features in a single machine to streamline in-office dental appliance manufacturing. The desktop platform enables the user to print, wash and cure, the three different stages rotating on a carousel. Additionally, the Velox machine features a new pre-processing service called AutoPrint, a cloud-based service which enables the user to upload an STL file, before the automated system takes care of the nesting, supporting and slicing. Then, the machine begins to print the file without the need for any further user operation.
The Velox is also said to support a wide range of materials, able to hold up to three cartridges of different materials at once. These materials enable the Velox to be harnessed to print models and surgical guides, denture bases and temporaries, and fully guided implant cases.

This is Structo's latest delivery to the dental 3D printing field, having previously launched the OrthoForm and DentaForm platform in 2016 and 2017 respectively. The Singapore-based company's printers are powered by MSLA technology, said to be able to manufacture parts in less time than traditional SLA. Now, Structo is not only promising fast build times, but an end-to-end solution designed and developed specifically for dental professionals.
“While we do provide custom automated manufacturing solutions to labs that operate at this scale, we saw a clear need to develop a solution that brings that level of automation into dental practices,” commented Huub van Esbroeck, Founder at Structo.
Dhruv Sahgal, Head of Business Development at Structo, added: “This revolutionary new 3D printer will allow dental professionals to seamlessly go from intra oral scan to final printed part, making this a true industry game changer.”
Structo will exhibit its Velox 3D printing platform at the Chicago Dental Society (CDS) Midwinter Meeting 2018, Booth #4536 from February 22-24, 2018.
