Voodoo large format
Voodoo Manufacturing has installed ten Raise3D N2 Plus machines to launch its Large Format 3D Printing service.
Voodoo Manufacturing, a New York-based volume 3D printing factory, is introducing a new service that affords customers the opportunity to manufacture parts on a larger scale.
The service is called Large Format 3D Printing and has ignited the installation of ten Raise3D N2 Plus platform, which are powered by the Fused Deposition Modelling (FDM) process and support a range of plastic materials.
Large Format 3D Printing is being offered to enable current and new customers to manufacture architectural models, component housings, furniture prototypes, product displays, and custom mannequins, among other things. Prior to the introduction of this service, Voodoo was able to print individual parts with dimensions up to 285 x 153 x 155 mm. Now, they can print individual parts up to 300 x 300 x 600 mm. It means a custom mannequin of a six-foot tall person can now be made in only 20 parts and assembled in 30 minutes, compared to the 90 pieces and two-three hour assembly time it used to take.

“We hope that providing our customers the ability to manufacture large parts will enable new applications for our service that weren’t possible before,” said Jonathan Schwartz, co-founder and Chief Product Officer, Voodoo Manufacturing. “With this launch, we want to attract new customers, but also provide existing customers with yet another reason to keep coming back to Voodoo.”
Voodoo Manufacturing boasts a 3D printing farm of more than 200 FDM printers, and has served more than 2,000 customers since its foundation in 2015. Among those customers were Alexis Walsh and Justin Hattendorf, who used Voodoo’s service to print 900 stud pieces for their APEX Coat. It allowed the two fashion designers to test unconventional ideas, and then hand over to the Voodoo team to print the parts. It’s just one example among more than 2,000 of Voodoo’s services being exercised successfully. Now with the launch of the Large Format 3D Printing service, Voodoo is looking to expand its reach, encouraging current customers to think bigger, and enticing new customers to utilise its wealth of 3D printing machinery.
