XJet AB Universal distributor
Andrei Boyarintsev, Managing Director AB Universal shakes hands on the new partnership agreement with XJet CBO Dror Danai.
XJet has announced AB Universal, an existing customer of the vendor’s additive manufacturing technology, is to begin selling the Carmel metal and ceramic systems on its behalf in Russia.
The companies came to the agreement at the recent Formnext trade fair in Frankfurt. It represents an expansion of Xjet’s distribution network, which was launched at TCT Show in September as Carfulan Group was named as a worldwide reseller.
AB Universal was among the first adopters of a ceramic Carmel 1400 system back in the spring and is a leading distributor of AM systems throughout Russia. It has been in operation for 25 years, and in that time has established itself as a reputable supplier of state-of-the-art equipment to significant industrial companies, healthcare professionals, education institutes and researchers.
“Since we installed the Carmel AM system, we’ve experienced the unique advantages of the technology and now we want to deliver those benefits to the wider Russian industry, where we’re already meriting much interest,” commented Andrei Boyarintsev, Managing Director, AB Universal. “XJet technology offers something distinct. The soluble support material is a game-changer in metal and ceramic additive manufacturing and I believe there’s huge untapped potential of this technology in AM. By offering this new technology we expect to expand our customer base significantly. We’re looking forward to a very fruitful relationship.”
For XJet it represents the continuation of what has been a busy end to the year. Before the end of the year, the company will move into a new and larger headquarters, while in the last 90 days, it has unveiled its soluble support solution for Stainless Steel 316L, opened its Additive Manufacturing Center, and at TCT Show and Formnext, landed its first two distributors.
“We’re developing our distribution infrastructure prudently. We want to keep our finger on the pulse in larger markets such as the USA and Germany so we’re aware of any new trends. Russia is an important market for XJet – according to experts, additive manufacturing is at a stage of fast development in the region, growing at 30% per year,” added Avi Cohen, XJet Vice President, Healthcare & Education. “It seems to be moving much faster than the average global rate of 21% we saw in 2017 and with that rate of change we want to work with a specialist like ABU who can provide high levels of the technology through its work in its demo centre.”
