AMUG 2013-14 board
The Additive Manufacturing Users Group (AMUG) has appointed its new board of directors.
Yesterday (April 18th), the organisation announced its 2013-2014 board members. The committee includes President Bret Bordner of Laser Reproductions, Vice-President Mark Barfoot of Christie Digital Systems, Secretary Kim Killoran of Stratasys, Past President Gary Rabinovitz of Reebok International and the Chrysler Group's Tom Sorovetz will be Event Manager.
The 2013-2014 AMUG board members were elected at the annual business meeting held Jacksonville, Florida, on April 17.
The newly-appointed board will plan and organise the 2014 AMUG Conference, which will be held in the western United States, but exact dates and locations will not be confirmed until next month.
Mr Rabinovitz, outgoing President said: "We are coming to the close of a very successful and well received 2013 conference.
"Attendees have commented that this is the best event they've ever attended. This success is a reflection of the hard work and dedication of the best group of volunteer leaders that I have ever had the pleasure of working with."
Mr Bordner, who is taking over from Mr Rabinovitz, added: "I have no doubt that next year's conference will be even better and significantly larger. Considering both the elected and appointed board positions, I have the advantage of leading a team that is predominantly the same as the one that supported Gary."
Moreover, the newly-formed board announced three further appointments: Vince Anewenter of the Milwaukee School of Engineering will be Treasurer; Todd Grimm of TA Grimm & Associates is additive manufacturing industry advisor; and Mark Abshire of DSM Somos was named as advisor to the board - a new position.
By the end of the meeting, the board also revealed that Graham Tromans of GP Tromans Associates and Stefan Ritt of SLM Solutions will stay on as European liaisons. Ulf Linde from netfabb was also named as a European liaison.
