Farsoon's FS271M
Farsoon's FS271M metal machine
Globalisation of metal 3D printing has continued at a steady pace over the past two years, most of the established European players in the market such as SLM Solutions, Arcam and Concept Laser now have an American incorporation responsible for operations stateside. The latest metal additive manufacturing company to create a North American operation is Farsoon Technologies.
Farsoon Americas will be able to offer customers in the U.S., Mexico, and Canada its full line of metal solutions, which currently includes its large scale FS271M powder-bed fusion technology and smaller version, the FS121M.
Previously Farsoon Technologies have pursued route to market in America through resellers such as Varia3D but this new incorporation headed up by industry veteran (formerly of Prodways, Incodema and Linear Mold) Bob Evans. Bob's wealth of experience, particularly in metal 3D printing gives Farsoon a leg up in an ever-expanding market.
“I am excited to be a part of Farsoon and to bring their products to the American market,” said Bob. He added, “Farsoon is able to deliver a superior product at a price that competitors can’t match -- I know the American market is hungry for it.”
Since its launch by laser sintering pioneer and AMUG Dino, Dr. Xu Xiaoshu in 2009, Farsoon has continued to impress the industry as a whole through collaborations like that launched at this year's formnext powered by tct with Laser Sintering Service (LSS). The launch of Farsoon Americas gives the company a leg up into a market that should be ripe for another competitor after GE's acquisition of both Concept and Arcam, especially for a technology like Farsoon's that is an open platform.
Bob Evans stated, “from the beginning, I was impressed by Farsoon’s metal machines ...to be able to offer systems of this caliber for [under $400,000] is going to make Farsoon a power player.”
