Dr Martin Baumers, Assistant Professor of Additive Manufacturing Management at The University of Nottingham says:
"The use of additive manufacturing (AM) technology has been enjoying significant and steady growth over recent years. Because of the newness of the technology and significant conceptual differences between AM and more conventional ways of manufacturing, there is also an urgent need for university-trained professional engineers with a specialism in AM. The University of Nottingham is pioneering in this field by offering a dedicated postgraduate masters course (MSc) from September 2018. The research group hosting this course, the Centre for Additive Manufacturing (CfAM), is one of the recognised centres of expertise in the world - providing its strong scientific basis and highly qualified pool of academic teachers to the course. This is supported by the CfAM's new laboratory, which houses a very broad technology portfolio. This combination of expertise and facilities allows students to gain practical insight and deep technological exposure to state-of-the-art AM systems and processes."
