Faro Technologies, a developer of measurement and imaging solutions, is launching QuantumS FaroArm, its latest coordinate measuring machine (CMM).
The Florida-based company announced its British division will be presenting a series of its products at TCT Show, which takes place between 26-28 September in Birmingham, UK.
With this latest product, Faro believes it has extended its status as a leader of inspection process manufacturing, thanks to its ‘best in class performance and durability, enhanced ergonomics and extreme portability.’ The QuantumS has also been ISO 10360 -12:2016 certified – among the most rigorous international measurement quality standards. This standard established the critical testing procedures that enable objective comparisons to be made between all articulated arm coordinate measuring devices.
In addition to its ISO accreditation, the QuantumS has been successfully tested against the International Electrical Commission (IEC 60068 -2) shock, vibration and temperature stress relief standards. Faro haven’t just ensured the durability of its new system, though. The company also believes it has achieved a continuation of the performance equality of its other metrology solutions that have gone before the QuantumS. Adding FAROBlu Laser Line Probe HD, the QuantumS is said to boast an impressive measurement consistency, in both contact and non-contact scans. The new machine also enables users to capture more in richer detail and at an increased speed per Faro.
While it enables the user to capture images in greater volume, detail and less time, it also enables up to 15% less effort according to Faro. Thanks to its advanced man-machine interface and enhanced ergonomics, users have been left feeling less fatigued. With greater comfort and performance ensured, Faro has packaged these capabilities in a more portable design. This smaller design ensures additional floor reach by up to 40%, the advanced wireless capability delivering a comparable reliability to wired scanning. The ability to swap batteries, meanwhile, enables the continuous operation of the scan anywhere eon the factory floor.
“FARO takes great pride in its market leadership position in delivering a FaroArm that is 25% more accurate than any FaroAROArm to date,” said Simon Raab, Ph.D., Faro’s President and CEO. “It is out toughest FaroAROArm ever and adheres to the most exacting global quality standards. We continue to elevate the value/ performance standard for large scale measurement applications by combining leading edge usability, best in class performance and value driven pricing. Next generation user interaction, enhanced portability and Super 6DoF compatibility significantly improves the end user experience from both a personal comfort and productivity standpoint.”
