Two of the 3D printing industry’s pioneers, Materialise and 3D Systems, have today announced a partnership which will enable customers to combine the respective companies’ software and hardware.
Live from the RAPID+TCT Conference, the companies revealed users will soon be able to integrate a customised Build Processor software with 3D System’s ProJet CJP full colour 3D printers. Materialise and 3D Systems believe this alignment of two of the industry’s senior players represents a milestone moment, and continues the shift towards collaboration to deliver innovative solutions within the 3D printing space.
The Build Processor, which will be developed under Materialise’s Magics 3D Print Suite brand, will tailor the software to maximise its efficiency and compatibility with the CJP. It will look to reduce the complexity of 3D printing workflows for 3D Systems customers.
“Customers across the board will reap the benefits of our partnership with 3D Systems and increased collaboration with organisations both within and outside of the 3D printing industry,” said Fried Vancraen, founder and CEO of Materialise. “We are pleased to solidify our relationship, which dates back to 1990 when I bought my first 3D Systems printer. This is good news for customers, as it links Materialise’s powerful software backbone with 3D Systems’ ColorJet Printing technology.”
Jim Ruder, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Plastics for 3D Systems added: “We are pleased that this collaboration with Materialise will enable our ProJet CJP printer customers who use Materialise software to have a streamlined workflow and more efficient overall solution.”
Materialise is presenting a wide range of its 3D printing software solutions for the duration of RAPID+TCT from Booth #1613, while 3D Systems is present at Booth #2525.
