The hotly-anticipated Cube 3D printer from Cubify or - for those old school industry guys - 3D Systems now has a shipping date published on the Cubify website.
The Cube will start shipping on 25th May 2012. It ships in silver color with a hurt your eyes neon green material cartridge.
At $1299 this piece of kit certainly looks the part, you wouldn't call it beautiful but it is a far cry from the machines aimed at the maker market.
The Cube is only 10 x 10 x 13 inches in size, and weighs in at just 9.5 lb, with a build envelope of 5.5 x 5.5 x 5.5 inches. Currently, there are ten colors of ABS printing material that come in cartridges that you can swap in and out. Extra cartridges cost $50 - although if you buy three of more you are in discount territory.
