Digital Forming
UCODO
Digital Forming, a British-based design customisation company, which allows users to personalize a product without having extensive 3D design skills, have launched their collaborative design platform UCODO.com that aims to “empower mass customisation using digital manufacturing (and 3D printing) for the production of one-off products on demand”
During a talk at the recent Develop 3D Live expo, Digtial Forming’s Lisa Harouni was left to defend 3D printing and talked at great length on how the technology could lead to the creation of bespoke products on mass.
UCODO.com is a bridge between designer and customer; a designer will design a product in their usual manner but will allow room for specific parameters (chosen by the designer) like text, size, colour etc to be changed by the end user.
Without the need to go through further web-development or design processes the designer simply needs to upload his/her file to Digital Forming’s platform and the cloud-based software will do the rest. The end user simply has to use sliders and text boxes to create their bespoke product.
“In the UCODO world, everything remains virtual until ordered, allowing you to run a business with a positive cash flow. There are no stocks, warehousing or waste. What’s more, local production saves you time and money whilst also helping the environment. Simply engage, sell and grow!”
