Munich-based startup, DyeMansion will present the DM60, the world’s first colouring machine for laser sintered plastics, at formnext powered by tct next week.
Earlier this year, the company announced a partnership with EOS founder Dr. Hans Langer at the Munich 3D-Printing-Cluster, founded by EOS, UnternehmerTUM GmbH and the Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship to encourage additive manufacturing development between established companies and startups. DyeMansion was also named the winner of the formnext Start-Up Challenge and as a result, the company is now introducing their first fully automated colouring machine which will enable users of laser sintering technology to colour parts on site.
Founder, Felix Ewald, commented: “Our goal was to integrate our complex manual coloring process into a plug-and-play machine. The DM60 is proof positive that our efforts have been a success. This machine sets new standards in quality and process dependability."
The machine has a colouring volume of 60 litres, which offers enough capacity for larger additive finishing applications as well as for serving several laser sinter devices simultaneously. Full automation, including a cleaning cycle, means users can be less hands-on and experience higher efficiency, allowing them to significantly increase the quality of their laser sintered parts at minimal effort and low cost.
Co-founder Philipp Kramer, added: “Our machine has been in daily use for several months now and really makes a huge difference for easing the workload for our colouring service”.
