LPW Technology is to unveil new ranges of additive manufacturing clean powders at the upcoming formnext powered by TCT.
The powders have been manufactured at its new purpose-built facility in the North West of England, which houses atomisers capable of making small to medium volumes of very clean powders, primarily custom titanium, nickel, cobalt, aluminium, and steel alloys. With a £20m investment, the facility has been designed to control contamination at every step of the process, with cells being segregated for specific material production.
LPW says its powder manufacturing facility will operate under cleanroom conditions with contamination controlled to a degree ‘never before seen’ in the manufacture of AM metal powders. And at formnext, the company will be presenting the equipment that ensures such clean and safe produce.
“At LPW, we view AM from the perspective of the powder,” said Dr Phil Carroll, LPW’s founder and CEO. “At formnext we’ll be showcasing our new production capability, assuring manufacturers operating in safety-critical sectors that our atomisation equipment has been designed to engineer out the risk of contamination in our AM metal powders.”
These include both its PowderRange series of AM metal powders, and PowderLife, the AM suite of powders, products, and solutions designed to support AM in production. PowderRange metal powders are supplied to quality management standards AS 9120, AS 9100, ISO 9001 and ISO 13485. Dispatched within 24 hours of the order, every PowderRange powder is shipped with a test certificate to assure the customer of its consistency and specification and that they have been checked and confirmed in LPW labs.
LPW Technology will be exhibiting at Hall 3.1 Booth D48 at formnext powdered by TCT from November 14th – 17th. The company’s experienced engineers and R&D team members will be on hand to offer free 30-minute consultations at the Frankfurt-based trade show.
