X350pro 3D printer
German 3D printer manufacturer, German RepRap has unveiled its latest 3D printer model, the X350pro set to go on show at formnext powered by TCT next week.
The machine is the second iteration of the X350 3D printer which was launched at the beginning of 2015 and features a 350 x 250 mm build space, more stable frame, dual extruder for multi-material printing and a USB interface.
The basic structure of the X350 was completely upgraded on the X350pro. This includes the increased 12mm diameter of the shafts and the stronger housing. The new design of the X350pro prevents any vibration in the printer, thus reducing the negative effects of this on print quality. It is also possible to set the X and Y-axis, which simplifies printer adjustment after transport and means printing can start straight away.
The X350pro comes with the DD3 dual extruder with a full metal hot end and can handle high-performance filaments such as carbon reinforced, Carbon20 or the soft, TPU93. The dual extruder enables the printing of objects in two colours and can also be used to process water-soluble support structures.
The build platform has been completely redesigned using a horizontal design similar to the German RepRap X1000 3D printer. In the new version, the ceramic build platform no longer has any drill holes but is positioned horizontally in a frame directly on the heater insulation made from silicon foam. The three-point fixture of the build platform was retained, so that calibration is as straightforward and fast as before.
The X350pro can now be connected directly a PC via USB. The browser-based controller makes it possible to control the printer not only via the touch panel but also via any device with a web browser such as a tablet or smartphone. An optional print monitoring system via a webcam can also be set up in order to monitor print progress remotely.
The X350pro is available worldwide via German RepRap and its network of authorized resellers. The X350pro, the X400 PRO V3 and the X1000 V2 will be shown at the formnext exhibition in Frankfurt/M, Hall 3.1 stand D30 on 17th-20th November, 2015. Register for your free ticket.
