Speciality hinge for Superfit rings.
Philadelphia based jewellery manufacturing company Superfit Inc. is pairing new technology with traditional craftsmanship to produce bespoke, custom fit rings.
Exclusive manufacturer of a speciality hinged ring, the company recently acquired its second 3D printer, to produce custom CAD jewellery designs with Superfit's well-known hinge and latch system. Superfit Technology in an invisible hinge design that allows rings to open and fit to the base of a consumer's finger, preventing rolls, twists, turns or difficulty in removal.
"There are limitless possibilities," says Eric Alulis, President of Superfit Inc. "We can fine tune our hinged mechanism to accommodate the specific dimensions of any design. Beyond the aesthetic advantages, 3D printing and CAD design allows us to make precise shapes, sizes and designs while incorporating our patented hinge and latch design. Now, we can quickly design and print a prototype based on specific design requests.”
Partnering his strong background in STEM along and his family history in the jewellery industry, Alulis plans to continue implementing digital methods in Superfit's work. Earning his Bachelor of Science degree at Arizona State University, he then went on to study abroad at University Of Waikato School Of Business in Hamilton, New Zealand and Drexel University, School of Engineering in Philadelphia. Most recently, Alulis completed the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program.
Superfit Technology has provided true bespoke fitted rings for over 20 years, delivering comfort, versatility and reliability across the world. In 2015 Alulis plans to further expand Superfit Inc.’s presence in Canada and Europe with a keen focus on innovative technologies in CAD, CAM and 3D printing.
