The Lixpen
The world's smallest 3D printing pen?
UPDATE (10th April): Lixpen have now released a video, which you can see above, of their rather swish looking 3D Printing pen in action. Kickstarter project coming soon.
The 3Doodler 3D printing pen launched last year to much noise, people went crazy for the handheld device that took PLA and ABS strands and fed it through a hot-end to draw models in thin air. It’s been a year since the massive Kickstarter success and we’ve only seen a hand full of copycat models, nothing new, but it looks like there’s a competitor for WobbleWorks' crown.
The Lixpen claims to be the world’s smallest pen and will be launching a Kickstarter campaign very soon, the sleek design looks more akin to a stylish ball point pen that a 3D printing device but it melts and cools plastic to create free standing structures just as you’d expect.
Available in two colours; black matte and white matte; the pen will have a launch price of $139.95 USD (£85) and according to a post on Dribble is created by Anton Suvorov.
Other 3D pens have fallen by the wayside as 3Doodler have either crushed them with excellent marketing or excellent lawyers, it will be interesting to see what happens to Lixpen.
More info as we get it.
