HP has given more details about the continued interest and adoption of its Multi Jet Fusion technology in Europe as the 22nd TCT Show commences in Birmingham, UK.
They include the extension of the company’s dealings with Henkel; the continued growth of its reseller network; and the growing adoption of its Multi Jet Fusion (MJF) 3D printing solutions in Europe.
Henkel, a German chemicals company and partner of HP’s Open Applications and Materials Lab, has become the first global reseller of the HP MJF platforms. The company is also set to open three demonstration centres to showcase the machines. Helping to develop and qualify new materials for the MJF 3D printer with the HP Materials Development Kit, Henkel’s Adhesive Technologies division is enjoying good relations with its Silicon Valley-based partner. Now, Henkel will not only look to support HP’s 3D printing offerings, but also distribute it around the world.
“HP is the industrial leader in 3D printing and, as we expand our portfolio to include additive manufacturing services, we are thrilled the become the first global reseller for HP’s Jet Fusion 3D Printing solutions,” said Philipp Loosen, Head of 3D Printing at Henkel Adhesive Technologies. “We are excited to deepen our collaboration with HP, develop even more innovative materials and 3D printing solutions for our customers, and increase the value for their end-use applications.”
Henkel now can count themselves as one of more than 30 members of HP’s reseller plan. The chemicals specialist has recently been joined by 3D Center, 3Dees Industries, 3D Ever, 3D Printer ApS, DaVinci Development A/S, and RP Support as HP has bid to enhance its European efforts.
Additionally, HP has revealed more than two dozen European service bureaux have or have agreed to adopt the HP MJF solutions. Materialise and Shapeways were among those already using the machine in this capacity, but they are now joined by such companies as Digital Mechanics; FICEP 3D; Hoffman Innovation Group; Sculpteo; and Thinktec3D, who will use it for both rapid prototyping and full-scale production.
Meanwhile, HP has confirmed it now has more than 25 3D Printing Reference and Experience Centers in operation across the world. New additions have been made in Austria, Denmark, Portugal and Sweden, to add to those already in place in France, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, the UK, and the US. These facilities have been launched to enable companies to engage with HP’s 3D printing technology in ‘production-level’ scenarios. Engineers can test and qualify new 3D printing use cases in controlled environments, with the long-term aim to provide customers with a clearer transition from using 3D printing as a prototyping tool to a manufacturing one.
A host of European companies, HP has also disclosed, are harnessing the Multi Jet Fusion platform to do experience just that. BMW Group, Jabil, Johnson & Johnson and Nike are all renowned adopters of the technology, but a series of others have hopped on the bandwagon too. Danfoss Group; ETH Zurich; Jaguar Land Rover; KTM; and the MTC have all installed MJF machinery sin recent months.
“We are thrilled by the initial response to HP’s Multi Jet Fusion 3D solutions across Europe and to collaborate with our customers as they expand their uses and applications well beyond the boundaries of traditional manufacturing,” said Emillo Juarez, Head of EMEA 3D Printing Sales, HP Inc. “Not only has our European customer and partner community grown quickly, we are already seeing existing customers make multiple purchases of HP Jet Fusion units for full-scale 3D production.”
HP is exhibiting its TCT Technology Innovation Hardware Award-nominated MJF 3D printing solutions for the duration of TCT Show from Stand D10.
