Matsuura Machinery, a manufacturer of CNC machining solutions, has announced it will be exhibiting the LUMEX Series of hybrid laser sintering/ CNC milling machines at the upcoming TCT Show.
The LUMEX Series is made up of the LUMEX Avance-25 and LUMEX Avance-60 platforms. Matsuura believes they are ideal for the production of intricate components that cannot be manufactured with conventional methods. It also supports a variety of metal materials, giving the user increased flexibility.
This year, the LUMEX Avance-25 was subject to a host of enhancements and upgrades, resulting in a faster build and the option of an increased workspace. Now, the Avance-25 has maximum build speeds of 14 cc/h with the 500 W laser option, and 35 cc/h with the 1KW laser option. Currently, the workspace is W256mm x D256mm x H185mm, but Matsurura is offering the chance to increase this t W256mm x D256mm x H300mm.
Prior to these updates, the Avance-25 was installed in the Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC), Coventry, a research organisation exploring the capabilities of NetShape and additive manufacturing. With the standard workspace, MTC’s Avance-25 platform has a 400W Yb Fiber Laser and a 45,000RPM Matsuura Maxia high speed CNC machining Spindle.
The Avance-60, meanwhile, was only introduced last year. It boasts a workspace of W600mm x D600mm x H500mm, a 1000W Yb Fiber Laser and the 45,000RPM Matsuura Maxia CNC milling Spindle installed. So far, the Avance-60 is being harnessed in the die and mould industries, as well as aviation and medical sectors.
“The TCT Show provides the ideal platform to demonstrate the enhanced features of the latest LUMEX Avance-25, inspire visitors to our stand and challenge conventional methods of manufacturing,” said David Edwards, Senior Director at Matsuura Machinery. “We’re delighted to be exhibiting once again.”
