3D Systems Figure 4 platform
Based on its Figure 4 technology, 3D Systems’ new platform allows customers to tailor configurations and select materials to address specific applications.
3D Systems is to introduce five new materials for its Figure 4 family at TCT Show with general availability scheduled for October 1st.
The company will also showcase the Figure 4 Standalone and Modular platforms, as well as a selection of metal 3D printing applications and a number of its software tools.
3D Systems launched Figure 4 technology in 2017 with the Standalone platform designed to meet prototyping and low-volume production needs and the Modular platform enabling users to scale up as those production needs expand. Since rolling out the Figure 4 products, 3D Systems has been endeavouring to make available a comprehensive portfolio of materials to enable its customers to harness the technology for a wider array of applications.
With five materials set to be added to that already eight-strong portfolio this month, 3D Systems will also highlight several applications produced with currently available grades. A threaded water hose with similar aesthetics and texture to injection moulded ABS plastic has been produced with 3D Systems’ Figure 4 TOUGH-BLK 20 material, while Figure 4 MED-AMB 10 has been used to print a water nozzle and Figure 4 MED-WHT 10 has been harnessed to manufacture a threaded valve assembly.
These applications will be accompanied on the 3D Systems TCT Show stand by aerospace and healthcare applications additively manufactured with the company’s DMP Flex 350, DMP Factory 350 and DMP Factory 500 co-developed with GF Machining Solutions. 3D Systems will also display its Geomagic Design X, Geomagic Control X, 3D Sprint and 3DXpert software platforms and adjacent to the 3D Systems stand will be 3D Systems On Demand where visitors can learn more about the company’s manufacturing services.
Meanwhile, 3D Systems technology will be featured in the first of Wednesday morning’s TCT Summit keynote sessions as the TCT Award-nominated ‘Lost Dragons at Kew Gardens’ project is discussed by Historic Royal Palaces.

3D Systems will be exhibiting on Stand A80, while 3D Systems On Demand will be located on Stand B84. TCT Show will run from September 24-26 at the NEC in Birmingham, with the third annual TCT Awards taking place on the evening of Wednesday September 25th at the National Conference Centre.
