Westminster Forum Projects
This seminar will bring together key stakeholders with policymakers to discuss what more Government can do to support growth and productivity across key manufacturing sectors in the UK. It is scheduled to assess implications arising from the conclusion of Foresight's The Future of Manufacturing project later this year, which is expected to set out latest evidence and futures analysis on long-term challenges and risks for UK manufacturing. Bringing together industry representatives from a variety of relevant industries - such as automotive, energy, electronics, pharmaceutical and aerospace - alongside investors, enterprise partnerships, consultants and academics, sessions will focus on how the Foresight project might inform future priorities for Government policy in this area, looking in particular at the challenges ahead for supporting investment, innovation, exports and skills.
We are delighted that Sir Mark Walport, Chief Scientific Advisor to HM Government and Head, Government Office for Science (subject to diary) has agreed to deliver a keynote address at this seminar.
Dick Elsy, Chief Executive, High Value Manufacturing Catapult; Mike Hutchinson, Manufacturing Director, Tharsus Group and Bill Twigg, Apprenticeship Director, Semta have also agreed to speak.
