Ultimaker 2
When your website crashes you can bet your bottom dollar that something big has happened, that’s exactly what’s gone on over at Ultimaker as they announce the Ultimaker 2 and their site buckles under the traffic surge.
It is fair to say that the Ultimaker has become the hackers branded printer of choice after MakerBot went closed source. The announcement of the Ultimaker 2 was always going to cause quite a stir.
The machine will be officially unveiled at the BIBAs (a Lancastrian business awards ceremony), tonight as the Dutch outfit seek a UK distributor in the region.
Boasting a sleek design and some incredible specs for a desktop 3D machine; up to 300mm/s and a resolution of up to an incredible 20 microns all at sounds of about 49 decibels. For an open machine that’s relatively silent!
One of the key features Ultimaker are keen to point out is the speed of the processing of their machine. "Speed often has a big impact on the 3D printing experience, and we have spent a lot of time and effort to come up with the fastest technology. Our machine is so fast that the engine finishes processing before you have the opportunity to press print," says Ultimaker Founder, Erik de Bruijn.
Best of all the Ultimaker 2 will be on display at the Ultimaker stand during TCT Show + Personalize FOR FREE! Register right here to see the new machine in action.
